AROW99 - Action Research On Web 1999
------------------------------------
Enrolments are now open for 'Action Research On Web', a one-semester
course in action research offered by The University of Sydney. Enrol
now for Semester 1 (March to June) 1999.
Under new Continuing Professional Education arrangements AROW99 is
available to graduates and experienced professionals at the low price
of Aus$ 390 (conditions apply).
AROW99 Action Research On Web is a one-semester web-based course in
action research offered as continuing professional education to
graduates with web access anywhere in the world. To do this course
you should be a graduate, and have access to e-mail, the World Wide
Web and a University or professional library.
Participatory action research extends knowledge and improves social
practices through processes that empower ordinary people. Action re-
search projects proceed through cycles of planning, acting, observing
and reflecting, with the participation of the people affected by the
practices under consideration.
Participants study through the Internet. In this Unit you will learn
how to engage in research and action to improve professional prac-
tices as twin aspects of the same process. Action research empowers
people affected by research through participation in all aspects of
the research cycle.
Action research is a form of applied research well established in
education, community development and management, and increasingly
used in nursing, health professions, agriculture and engineering.
