Attacking Poverty (2)
---------------------

I liked your definition and good examples on poverty.

The definition(s) of poverty have always come from the rich, from those
known as the poor there is little or no documented definition. If
"poor" and the rich were to defined themselves and their vice, we might
end up with a better notion of poverty. A definition is critical to
solving the underlying problem, the struggle and ethics of equitable
distribution of wealth between the rich against the poor and vice
versa.

Assistance, support or AID to the poor is a cosmetic response of the
rich on the peoples called the poor. To my experience there has been
little attempt to establish baseline indicators, and actual evaluation
of outcome or benefits from the costly (billions dollars) interventions
that have been designed to assist the poor people by donors. The style
of AID has been stereotyped, to the extent of blaming the Poor of poor
participation, planing and management. We know the rich have developed
well refined methodologies of measuring benefits, but there is little
evidence of their use or reporting by donor agents to their lay commu-
nity, even under the respected UN agencies. Many poor have heard but
not seen the thing called AID.

Among the rich there is a growing school of enlighten who think and act
for the benefit of all humans, equity and for positive qualitative and
quantitative development of the poor.

Among the poor.
