had a slave market, the economic rationale for nutrition projects would
be self-evident. Human beings would have a market price that would in-
crease if they were better nourished (catching better prices); nutri-
tion projects would be at the top of the list - and much easier to jus-
tify than convoluted arguments based on productivity and ethics".
