XI-ICASA - Abstracts and Scholarships - New Deadlines

The Eleventh International conference on AIDS and STDs in Africa
(ICASA) Looking into the Future: Setting priorities for HIV/AIDS in Af-
rica

Lusaka, Zambia
12th to 16th September, 1999

The deadline for submission of conference abstracts and scholarship ap-
plications for the XI ICASA have been extended (due to last minute de-
mand and constraints in distribution of the second announcement).

The new submission dates are as follows:

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

*** NEW ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 1 JUNE, 1999

For abstract submission please fill in the Abstract Registration Form
(see below).

Rules for Abstract Submission:
- A presenter may serve as the presenting author on two abstract sub-
missions. The presenting author is asked to sign a statement of com-
pliance on the Abstract Form.
- Abstracts must not have been published or submitted for presentation
to any national or international meeting before the 11th ICASA Con-
ference.

Abstract Language:
Abstracts can be written in English or French.

Notification of Acceptance:
If your abstract has been accepted as oral or poster presentation, you
will be notified in June 1999.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS

*** NEW SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION DEADLINE: 1 JUNE 1999

A limited number of scholarships will be made available for making the
conference accessible to people from resource-constrained countries.
Both full and partial scholarships will be offered. Priority will be
given to those whose abstracts have been accepted for presentation by
the Conference.

Those interested in applying for a scholarship may complete the Schol-
arship Application Form (see below) and return it by fax or ordinary
mail to the ICASA Secretariat. The scholarship applicants must submit
their requests on the official forms. If the scholarship applicant is
submitting an abstract, Abstract and Scholarship Application Forms must
be attached and mailed together.

TO OBTAIN ICASA APPLICATION FORMS

- By Mail:
You can request the ICASA Second Announcement, containing abstract and
scholarship application forms, by writing IMMEDIATELY to the ICASA Sec-
retariat Offices below by e-mail, fax or surface mail.

- By Internet:
Go to the ICASA web site at:
http://www.xi-icasa.co.zm/

and print the forms you need.

- By E-mail:
If you are able to receive file attachments by e-mail, send an e-mail
to: <xi-icasa@hivnet.ch>

stating whether you would like abstract, scholarship or registration
forms (They will be e-mailed to you in WORD format).

TO SUBMIT APPLICATIONS: You can send completed forms directly to the
ICASA Secretariat (postal address below), or surface mail them to:
