Howard Lyons point is well taken and certainly accepted.
Perhaps one component of the issue of accurate country statis-
tics, which could be addressed relates to UN agencies and other
donors which often report different statistics about the same
country - for the same span of time.
Those who read the various statistics can easily be confused
and wonder whose statistics are to be believed.
For example if WHO, UNICEF and UNDP could agree on a set of
statistics in a country for a given point in time, confusion
about accuracy might decrease - to everyone's benefit.
