Dear Colleagues,

I have been requested by AFRICARE to advertise these health related po-
sitions in Zimbabwe, Malawi, Zambia and South Africa.

AFRICARE JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

AFRICARE is a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the qual-
ity of life in rural Africa. AFRICARE provides technical and financial
assistance in: agriculture, water resource development, environmental
management, health and emergency humanitarian aid. AFRICARE supports
more than 150 programs in 28 African countries.

AFRICARE has immediate vacancies for a Regional Adolescent Health Pro-
gram to be implemented in Southern Africa. The overall goal is to im-
prove reproductive health among adolescents and young adults in Zim-
babwe, Zambia, Malawi and South Africa. This program will be a collabo-
rative effort of AFRICARE and host country agencies and CBO's focussing
on strengthening their capacity to implement successful programs and
expand their services.

REGIONAL CO-ORDINATOR (1 Post)

The Regional Co-ordinator will be based in Harare, Zimbabwe and to re-
port directly to the AFRICARE Country Representative.

Requirements
* a Masters in Public Health ( or equivalent degree);
* at least five years experience in health program management in devel-
oping countries;
* demonstrated understanding of public health and HIV/AIDS/Reproductive
health interventions and experience with such programs in Southern Af-
rica will be considered favourably;
* strong interpersonal and communication skills;
* demonstrated skills in financial management, data analysis and report
writing.

CO-ORDINATORS (4 Posts)

The Co-ordinators will be based in Harare, Lilongwe, Lusaka and Johan-
nesburg and he/she will report directly to the Regional Co-ordinator in
Harare.

Requirements:
* a certificate or degree in Public Health;
* three to five years experience in health program management implemen-
tation in developing countries;
* demonstrated understanding of public health and HIV/AIDS / Reproduc-
tive health inventions;
* strong interpersonal and communication skills; and
* demonstrated skills in financial management, data analysis and report
writing.
