RFI: How to Start a Cancer Centre at KNH
----------------------------------------
Dear Readers,
I am a hospital planner who is planning to start a Cancer Centre for
Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) and Kenya in large. KNH is the largest
national referral and teaching hospital in Kenya. It has the largest
and busiest facilities in treating cancer in East and Central Africa.
The statistics have shown that the cancer cases are on the rise as the
days go by. The costs of treating patients are very high especially the
purchase of drugs. It is our hope to start a centre, which will be
dealing solely with these cases and have room to explore donations
especially for drugs and maintain and repair of facilities.
I would therefore appreciate any comment on setting up the Cancer Cen-
tre at Kenyatta National Hospital. This is now in the planning stages
where we like collecting all kind of information before appraising and
undertaking the project.
Thanks,
James Mwenda Murwithania
