The Institut Africain de Gestion Urbaine (IAGU) has coordinated a 
study concerning the management of biomedical waste in the West Afri-
can sub region. Bamako, Cotonou, Ouagadougou, Dakar were concerned by 
study. In each country a study and workshop were done. For further

In Mali the Centre Amadou Hampate have done a lot in studying the 
management of solid waste and garbage. Contact Fatima Meite. I am 
sure she could answer a lot of your questions about garbage dumping 
in Bamako:
