RFI: Publication on flies spreading diseases (2)
------------------------------------------------

Dear Lucia,

I would very much like to hear more about your article.

In the 1980s I did some laboratory research on the ability of
flies to spread V. cholerae. I never published this work, which
showed that under certain conditions flies might be vert effec-
tive vectors.

Recently, there has been an excellent publication in the Lan-
cet, with Sharon Huttley as one of the authors, which was a
randomised trial that showed that flies spread diarrhoeal dis-
ease in children.
