RFI: Publication of Health Management Study (5)
-----------------------------------------------
Dear Ms. Valls,
Greetings from Johannesburg, South Africa. I read your E-mail
on the Afro-Nets today, and would like to know more about the
"model health program" you referred to in Mozambique.
We work with Affordable Medicines For Africa (AMFA), a not-for-
gain wholesale generic medicine distributorship registered in
South Africa. AMFA's goal is to ensure that Christian health
professionals in subðSaharan Africa have access to a consistent
supply of appropriateðquality, essential medicines in their ge-
neric formulation. This is done at the lowest cost, with timely
and efficient distribution and a commitment to total customer
service.
Recently we have been in communication with hospitals and
health programs in Mozambique. From what we understand there
are only two authorized medicines suppliers permitted to import
into Mozambique at this time. This is certainly a limiting fac-
tor for AMFA. However, because our quality if high and our
prices low in comparison with almost any other African based
medicines supplier, the interest level in Mozambique is high.
Any information on the "model health program" you covered in
your research would be helpful to us in serving the health
needs of the poor in Mozambique.
Sincerely,
Richard Wagner
