Best wishes to you and yours for a happy new year.

This year kicks off on an exciting note as Metropolitan Group are proud 
to announce 'www.redribbon.co.za', the new AIDS website for Africa 
which, symbolically, was launched on 1 December 1999. 

This database-driven site targets five key groups (people in the work-
place, children, lay people wanting general information, people living 
with HIV/AIDS and researchers). Browsers who happen to fall into any 
one of these groups will find that their search is much more fine-tuned 
as the search results are tailored to meet their specific requirements. 
Furthermore, the site aims to provide a platform for discussion and in-
formation sharing where researchers can publicise their latest studies 
and findings. 

While there is a flood of information that suits the American and Euro-
pean contexts, there seems be an absence on the Web of information spe-
cifically relevant to Africa. 'Redribbon' will attempt, with your help 
and guidance, to fill this gap. In short, this is your website. Your 
information and input are invaluable. By all means visit the site and 
let us know what you think.
