RFI: HIV Antigen Test (2)
-------------------------

Hi:

Yes, you can test in early stages of HIV infection (days). Since an-
tibodies take some time (4 to 8 weeks, maximum 6 months) to rise,
you'll need to use P24 antigen test, wich is available commercially.
This is a reliable test useful in accidental puncture with infected
devices and risky contacts (e.g. rape) of known or suspected HIV-
positive patients. It's also useful in symptomatic primary infection
with HIV.

Hope this helps.
