The fact is that in Cambodia, young men used to lose their virginity
with prostitutes in brothels. I don not know any official enquiry
about it, but it is widely considered (for the NGO, especially) that
80% to 90% of Cambodian men use to go to the brothel (even after they
get married...). So, when there is a project of wedding, the family
of the girl orders the groom to do the HIV-test, in order to know
whether he is positive or not.
