Nigeria-AIDS vacancy - Co-Moderator
-----------------------------------

The Nigeria-AIDS eForum <http://www.egroups.com/group/nigeria-aids>
is an internet-based, archived electronic discussion list on issues
of HIV/AIDS in the Nigerian/African context. On the forum, members
discuss current issues and information about HIV/AIDS in Nigeria and
Africa, exchange news and views on HIV/AIDS issues, share information
about best practices, resources, grant opportunities, job vacancies,
conferences, ongoing research etc. Members can also post information
about themselves or their organisations, or make inquiries on any
health issue. Materials posted on the forum are increasingly used by
several news agencies, online forums and internal listservs; indeed
the forum has evolved to become, for many users, THE information
source on HIV/AIDS in Nigeria and the West African subregion.

The expansion plans and growing needs of subscribers to the forum
have created the need for a Co-Moderator for the forum.

Duties:

a. initiating/leading discussions on the forum;
b. editing messages for timeliness, readability, brevity etc.;
c. identifying and tracking emerging themes and debates;

coming months) and providing editorial guidance and supervision for
their work;
e. scanning current literature, media and coverage of relevant news
and events for circulation on the forum;
f. cross-referencing to previous discussions and highlighting consis-
tency of content, contrasting views etc.;
g. daily updating and maintenance of the forum and the Nigeria-AIDS
website;
h. assisting in promoting the forum, ensuring maximum participation
of all stakeholders, conducting evaluation surveys, generating feed-
back from members and representing the forum in HIV-related activi-

optimum utilisation of and participation in the forum.

The selected person will be offered a consultancy for a nine-month
