Comments: Food for thought for friend and foe
---------------------------------------------
I write concerning the extended dialogue from Claudio Schuftan on
Food for Thought...
I feel very strongly that the appropriate forum for such contribu-
tions is the professional journals and not a news group such as AFRO-
NETS.
If Claudio has strongly held views on this subject then by all means
he should express them, but in a single contribution with key points
highlighted. If he wants to share his complete thoughts he should do
that outside the news forum.
Although I am interested in the points he makes, I do not have the
time or inclination to work through a 9 part (so far) monologue. I
would be much more inclined to read a short, cogent and succinct con-
tribution.
Thoughts from others..... and possible guidelines for future con-
tributors.

[From the Moderator:
I must admit I also have some reservations about lengthy contribu-
tions, which do not lead to discussions on the list - except about
the format. We have thought about alternatives and have secured some
web space at the Kabissa server (http://www.kabissa.org/afronets)
where we can place lengthy documents for downloading. We could then
announce its availability via AFRO-NETS. DN.]
