Call for Applications:

Bioinformatics and Applied Genomics Programme Grant to develop re-
search and training centres/networks in Africa, Asia and Latin Amer-
ica

Universities, research institutions and research organizations in Af-
rica, Asia and Latin America are invited to apply for TDR programme
grants to develop training centres/networks for research and training
in bioinformatics and applied genomics. The centres will focus on in-
fectious and parasitic diseases, and be developed to support and
train scientists from the three regions. The ultimate goal is to es-
tablish sustainable research and training facilities by promoting
utilization of genomics in developing disease endemic countries.

Grant details
The sum of US$ 45,000 will be awarded as initial support for improve-
ments in computer, internet, and LAN infrastructure in the centres.
The grant will also be used to cover the costs of travel and accommo-
dation for students, staff, and at least three facilitators from out-
side the region to training workshops and courses. Support may be re-
newed annually subject to satisfactory evaluation.

How to Apply
All applications must be submitted via the web. E-mail or paper ap-
plications will NOT be accepted as access to the web by the principal
investigator is a major selection criteria.

tion, please visit the TDR website:
