National Informatics Centre (NIC) is a premier Information Technology
organization in India, which is committed to providing state-of-the-
art, solutions for the IT needs of the Government of India at all,
levels. NIC carries the distinction of being the largest IT Organiza-
tion in the Country and has set up a satellite based nationwide com-
puter communication network, called NICNET, with over 1400 nodes con-
necting the National Capital, the State Capitals and the District
Headquarters to one another.

The British Council's initiative to address problems faced by devel-
opment managers in accessing development information on India.
INDEV holds and disseminates information that is crucial for deci-
sion-makers, researchers, academics and development managers and act
as a gateway to development information on India.
