Job Opportunity: Health net in Afghanistan

Health Net International (HNI) support to the improvement of
health in post-conflict situations and in countries with a chronic
crisis. HNI is committed to support local initiatives designed to
rehabilitate and improve health care structures. HNI invests in
the potential of local people, enabling them to take control of
their own health. HNI is based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and
is implementing programmes in several countries in Africa, Asia,
Eastern Europe and Latin America.
Health Net International currently has the following vacancy:
PROJECT CO-ORDINATOR Jalalabad, Afghanistan
The Project Co-ordinator, based in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, is part
of the Malaria & Leishmaniasis Control Programme Pakistan/Afghanistan
and responsible for the overall management, supervision and control
of all project activities in Eastern Afghanistan.
This includes responsibility for all administrative and financial
procedures, for the supervision of expatriate and local staff,
and for the preparation of narrative and financial reports, external
as well as internal. The Co-ordinator takes the responsibility
for all operational aspects of the programme, and for establishing
networking with potential partners and donors involved in the
delivery of health care delivery and development in the region.
The coordinator also coordinates all programme planning with
the management team of HNI.
Profile: Extensive project management and administrative experi-
ence with NGOs Strong Public Health background; Experience in the
control of vector borne disease with specific reference to malaria
and leishmaniasis control; Experience in the development of commu-
nity health projects and income generation schemes; Excellent ad-
ministrative & communication skills; Proposal writing and report-
ing skills; Fluency in English.
Contract: As soon as possible until 31 March 2002, with the possi-
bility to extend.
