The Ptolemy Project: Electronic Health Information for the Developing World
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Office of International Surgery at the University of Toronto is
pleased to announce that is now seeking medical researchers, doctors
and surgeons in the developing world to participate in the Ptolemy
project.
The Ptolemy project aims to recruit clinicians and medical research-
ers in the developing world interested in electronic access to the
medical literature to participate in a project to assess needs for
this type of information in their work. Participants will be invited
to become Research Affiliates of the University of Toronto Office of
International Surgery and as members of the University Community they
will gain access to the library's extensive on-line resources, which
include approximately 425 journal indexes, 13,700 journals, and 6,000
books. There is a strictly limited number of proxy server accounts
available so interested persons are invited to apply now.
Please see our website <http://www.utoronto.ois/ptolemy.htm> if you
are interested in finding out more about becoming a Ptolemy partici-
pant; likewise, if you know of somebody who might benefit from this
project, please let them know.
