An opportunity to join a world-class African University

The Department of Human Biology in the Faculty of Health Sciences is
a new and vibrant amalgamation, which draws together the disciplines
of anatomy, anthropology, biomedical engineering, cell biology, his-
tology, neuroscience, physiology and sports science.

We invite applications from candidates who have expertise in one or
more of these disciplines for two posts for appointment as soon as
possible. As we are committed to redressing inequities in our staff
profile, applications from suitably qualified black persons and/or
women will be particularly welcomed. We are looking for applicants
who have a PhD or an appropriate postgraduate degree in the Health
Sciences field. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute
both to teaching and developing the new MBChB curriculum. Aside from
teaching undergraduate courses, you will also be expected to super-
vise postgradate students and to conduct research in one of the de-
partmental disciplines.

The Department of Human Biology is committed to assisting new staff
members establish their research careers. The post is full-time, and
is on the establishment of the University of Cape Town under the
Joint Agreement with the Provincial Administration of the Western
Cape.

The remuneration package, including benefits, is negotiable between:
Senior Lecturer: ZAR 169,040 - ZAR 211,300 a year. Lecturer: ZAR
153,832 - ZAR 192,290 a year. Send your CV (including the names,
