The Medical Faculty Charité of Humboldt University at Berlin invites
applications to the above course.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
To provide a state-of-the-art update on recent developments in vacci-
nology and to assist health professionals to design, plan, implement
and critically appraise immunisation programmes worldwide. The course
is accredited as an optional module in the TropEd Masters Programme
in International Health with the equivalent of 1.5 ECTS credit
points.
CONTENTS
Basics in immunology, key bacterial and viral diseases, epidemiology
of clinical trials, ethical issues, vaccine types, combined vaccines,
WHO vaccination programmes e.g. polio eradication, MMR prevention,
implementation of immunisation programmes, logistics, vaccine cold
chain management, vaccine registration, vaccine production including
visit of GSK production plant, adverse event monitoring and report-
ing, post-marketing surveillance, future vaccine developments.
PRE-REQUISITES
Medical doctors and senior health professionals with interest and ex-
perience in vaccinology.
