Information on !kung women urgently needed (3)
----------------------------------------------
Hi,
An excellent book I would recommend: The !Kung San - Men, Women and
Work in a Foraging Society by Richard and Borshay Lee (Cambridge Uni-
versity Press, 1979). The Lees were from the University of Toronto
and lived among the !Kung San people. Also, Dr Maria Fish will be
very helpful if you can contact her. She is now retired, and last I
heard was living somewhere in Swakopmund in Namibia. You may be able
to find her via the local Catholic priest. Maria lived and worked as
a medical practitioner, and later as a social anthropologist, in
northern Namibia for decades. She has published extensively in Ger-
man.
Best of luck,
Brendan Girdler-Brown
