GFA-Medica is a German consulting firm specialised in the health sec-
tor and belongs to the renowned GFA Group of international consulting 
firms. We plan and implement health projects in developing and tran-
sitional economies in the fields of Primary Health Care, Disease Con-
trol and Reproductive Health. Our office works in close co-operation 
with the University of Munich, Department of Infectious Diseases and 
Tropical Medicine. 

GFA-Medica is searching for a Reproductive Health Expert, Chad

who will work as Team Leader of an ongoing Family Planning and Repro-
ductive Health Project in Chad. The project started in November 1998. 
The position of Team Leader will be vacant from March 2001. The pro-
ject is financed by the German Technical Co-operation (GTZ) and is 
situated in the city of Sarh (South-Chad). The overall aim of the 
project is to improve the quality, accessibility and use of reproduc-
tive health care services in the Pr?fectures of Moyen Chari and Mayo 
Kebbi. The contract would be for approximately 2.5 years (until 
11.2004), with eventual prolongation. 

Tasks include: 
- improving the performances of health services in the area of repro-
  ductive health and family planning in the project region; 
- providing technical advice to the various partners (at national, 
  regional and district level) in the field of reproductive health; 
- organising training measures for health personnel; 
- supporting the participation of communities (e.g. community based 
  distribution of contraceptives, organisation of the referral system); 
- organising and supervising information and health education activi-
  ties in the field of reproductive health; 
- conducting operational research. 

Qualifications: Several years of experience in project management, 
reproductive health care, management of district health services and 
family planning and good knowledge of the French language are prereq-
uisites. The Position is originally designed for a medical doctor 
with a degree in public health, applicants with similar qualifica-
tions may apply.
