RFI: CD4+ count

Dear Friends,

Three days ago I attended a session where a person living with HIV 
was "coming out". During her speech she mentioned that when they 
measured her CD4+ count it was as low as 2 (two). The question every 
body asked was why is she not dead? Can someone explain this to us 
please?
