Many best wishes to everyone. We have recently received information
on a number of health-related awards, fellowships and prizes. I
wanted to draw these to your attention in case they are of interest
and relevance to your organisation. Please note that the deadline
dates for some of these are approaching. Details and links follow.

4th Annual Award for Best Practices in Global Health - Deadline March
1 2002

The Award for Best Practices in Global Health was established to
honor individuals and organizations making significant contributions
to the field. Aside from showcasing a specific program, this award
celebrates the thousands of people working in the field to promote
health equity for all.

Gender Based Violence and Health Research Awards - Deadline: April 2
2002

One or more research awards will be made by the South African Gender-
Based Violence and Health Initiative (SAGBVHI) at the First Gender
Based Violence and Health Conference, South Africa, April 17-19 2002.
The award is intended to encourage research in specific areas of gen-
der based violence and health. Applicants are invited from research-
ers based in South Africa.

Regular Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program - Dead-
line April 1 2002

The programme awards scholarships to individuals from World Bank mem-
ber countries to undertake graduate studies at universities renowned
for their development research and teaching. The Government of Japan
provides the funds to cover the costs of the scholarships and pro-
gramme management. The World Bank Institute (WBI) of the World Bank
maintains a Secretariat to handle the program's daily administration.

speaking Caribbean country or Suriname, between July 2001 to May
