RFA: Freelance Health Correspondents & Content Providers

Request for Application (RFA): Freelance Health Correspondents and
Content Providers for Africa-regional Website

The Centre for Health Policy & Strategic Studies (CHPSS), Lagos, Ni-
geria is collaborating with a US-based company to develop and launch
an Africa-regional health website/portal. The site is expected to
launch on or before mid-year 2002.

The Mission of the website is to enhance human health in Africa by
enhancing communication and bridging the health information gap be-
tween Africa and the rest of the world

The Goal is to be an authoritative provider of Africa-centred health
information and communication services.

Applications are hereby invited from:
(a) Freelance Health Correspondents in each and every African country
and
(b) Established Content Providers, desirous of feeding the website on
a daily basis with the following non-exclusive categories of publish-
able materials:
* General health news, reports and features
* Professionally-related health news, reports and features
* Health industry related news, reports and features
* Health business-related news reports and features
* Health jobs-related news, reports and features
* Health personality related news, reports and features
* Official statistical reports, etc.

The Health Correspondents need not be Journalists. Anyone with email
access, a minimum of high school education and the skills for sourc-
ing and aggregating information from the public domain is welcome to
apply.

Entities applying as Content Providers preferably would be estab-
lished media or professional organizations, academic, non-profit or
for-profit institutions with a track record of publishing in Africa.

Details of presentation format and other general terms and conditions
of service would be communicated only to short-listed candidates.

Appointments would be made on a continuing basis until all positions
are filled in each African country.
