RFI: Defilement/Rape in South Africa

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if someone here might have an idea on what the South 
African government is doing to stop the high defilement/rape inci-
dents in the country. For example, do we have tougher laws now? Also, 
is it a national problem or is it only in one area in South Africa? I 
would really appreciate any information in this regard. I just want 
to make sure that news reports carried by the media did not inten-
tionally left out what has been done to address these horrible viola-
tions.
