"Ask-Expert" Volunteers wanted

Dear All,

"Ask-Expert" Volunteer health professionals wanted for Africa re-
gional website

Expressions of interest are herewith invited from health profession-
als interested in serving in Volunteer capacity on the "Ask-Expert"
module of a major Africa-regional web portal in development.

Mission of Initiative:
The Mission of the web portal is to enhance human health in Africa by
bridging existing health information and communication gaps within
Africa and between Africa and the rest of the world.

Goal of Initiative:
To improve access to reliable health information for and about Af-
rica.

Objectives of Initiative:
To foster (among others), individual and community health improve-
ments in Africa through the use of ICT.

The portal launches soon.

Basic Conditions:
Volunteers may or may not be Africans. They need not be resident in
Africa. However, they should have suitable professional training,
knowledge and skills in their respective field(s) of expertise appli-
cable to health in Africa.

Volunteers in ALL fields of health/medicine as per non-exclusive list
below are welcome to register.

All volunteers MUST have access to reliable e-mail facility and a
strong commitment to prompt response to User questions.

Non-exclusive fields of need include:
Alternative/Complementary Medicine
Disabilities
Drugs and Pharmacy
Diseases/Conditions including HIV/AIDS
Fitness/Wellness
Laboratory medicine
Nursing
Nutrition
Medicine/Allied Health (all fields)
Men's health
Mental Health
Public Health
Reproductive Health
Teen Health
Women's Health

How process works
Targeted audiences are encouraged to pose their health-related ques-
tions by e-mail or by visiting the website. Questions are received by
a coordinator who passes them on to appropriate "expert(s)" on the
volunteer panel. "Expert's" compliant response(s) after review are
forwarded by e-mail to individual posing question. This way the goals
and objectives of initiative are achieved.
