New Publication: Genomics and World Health
------------------------------------------

The Department of Research Policy and Cooperation (RPC/EIP) at the
World Health Organization is pleased to provide you the electronic
link with the recently published report 'Genomics and World Health'.
The report is intended to highlight the relevance of genomics for
health care world-wide, with a particular focus on its potential for
improving health in developing countries.

The report notes that Genomics is a double edged sword as it can lead
to new interventions that can improve the health of all but it can
also widen existing inequalities and the health and technology gaps
between rich and poor countries.

The full report can be downloaded from the WHO web sites:
http://www.who.int/genomics
or
http://www3.who.int/whosis/genomics/genomics_report.cfm

Chinese, Arabic, Russian, Spanish and French editions, the other of-
ficial languages of WHO, will be available later in the year.

Yours sincerely,

Sacha P. Sidjanski, Ph.D.
