Vacancy: Advocacy Trainer - at a Disability Association in Zimbabwe

Catholic Institute for International Relations, CIIR, is an independ-
ent London based charity tackling the causes of poverty and injustice
internationally through an integrated approach of skill sharing and
advocacy. ICD is the skill share programme of CIIR. We work with peo-
ple of all faiths and none.

Due to the nature of this post we are looking to recruit a candidate
from the Southern African region. The Advocacy trainer will work with
the Jairos Jiri Association (JJA), Bulawayo to develop an advocacy
programme to assist in realising the rights of people with disabili-
ties. The postholder will assist the JJA and their partner organisa-
tions to develop, strengthen and implement an advocacy programme
through training and support. You will play a key role assisting JJA
and its partners in the co-ordination of its advocacy work and mes-
sages addressing the rights of people with disabilities, including
realising inclusiveness. You should have proven experience in devel-
oping an organisational advocacy strategy and working in coalition
building, networking, lobbying and campaigning. Experience in deliv-
ering training is essential and knowledge and exposure to the issues
effecting people with disabilities is very desirable.

We offer a comprehensive remuneration and benefits package and orien-
tation training. Posts are for a minimum of two years.
