University of Pretoria in Collaboration with USAID's Measure Evalua-
tion Project

Application deadline: 31 August 2002

USAID's MEASURE Evaluation Project is pleased to announce that the 
Master of Public Health Degree Program at the University of Pretoria, 
South Africa, is once again accepting applications for courses begin-
ning January 2003. MEASURE Evaluation has been collaborating with the 
School of Health Systems and Public Health to offer a concentration 
in monitoring and evaluation to students attending the program. The 
program aims to increase the capacity of professionals in the Africa 
region to monitor and evaluate population, health and nutrition pro-
grams. This graduate-level training opportunity can be completed in 
18 months and is conducted entirely in English.

MEASURE Evaluation offers a limited number of fellowships to highly 
qualified applicants from USAID-assisted countries.

This announcement is not only intended to serve as a means of inform-
ing the USAID missions of the availability of the program, but also 
to ask for referrals of applicants. There may be promising employees 
working in monitoring and evaluation of PHN programs who, with a mas-
ter's level education including coursework in M&E, can increase their 
contributions to this field in your country. We would appreciate your 
forwarding this announcement to potential applicants.
