During the last decade, numerous models of online education success-
fully underpinned the fundamentals of an alternative to the classic 
face-to-face or distance forms of education. However scientific cur-
ricula requiring direct access to laboratory facilities or observa-
tions in fields are lagging somewhat behind in the implementation of 
online education. This summer literature workshop will focus on ana-
lysing models of online education applicable in the context of ex-
perimental sciences:
