EATSET Biotechnology Seminar/Transfusion Workshop (3)
-----------------------------------------------------

Dear Patricia,

Thanks for your inquiries. The EATSET device cost only US$ 30,00
(thirty US dollars), which is about the cost of one unit of blood in
Nigeria. I suppose this cost is same in many countries. The device
functions under a very low pressure as a closed system unlike the
gauze filtration which is not a closed system and risk contamination.

The low manual pressure does not allow for damage to the red blood
cells. The practice of gauze filtration has become out of date. I
will get back to you. Do visit our site at:

Yours,

Dr. OO Ovadje
