Greetings!

Many thanks in advance for your support of Africamix, otherwise known 
as "The Collective Pledge for Needy Children", which is incorporated 
as a non-profit in the USA, and has branches in numerous African 
countries and Canada, the UK, France, and elsewhere. Africamix is 
working very hard to bring festivals of top-quality music and arts to 
cities as diverse as Atlanta and Nairobi, and countries like Rwanda, 
Mozambique, South Africa, and Kenya, all of it to benefit children 
and programs focusing on child development, wellness, and safety. For

come involved in contributing to this amazing and invaluable effort 
to make the lives of children better, healthier, and free from pov-
erty, abuse, and AIDS.

I am writing today to Kenyan organizations, individuals, and those 
with roots or interests in Kenya, to ask for your support for Afri-
camix-Kenya in particular. The organizers have come up with a budget 
of about US$ 6,000 in total, and US$ 1,200-1,500 has already been 
raised, with an individual contribution and a matching donation from 
Africamix-USA.

We are asking individuals to consider small contributions, and or-
ganizations to give us the opportunity to apply for a short-term 
grant, or to provide matching funds, or in some way to donate to this 
worthy cause. In-kind donations, like food and water, are most wel-
come, and we would be thrilled if someone were willing to provide 
meals or transportation for musicians, for instance, or to give the 
festival some advertising in newspapers, on the radio, or by word-of- 
mouth. We are also wondering if people (and especially children!) 
might be able to make banners and posters for the event, which would 
be not only creative and a big boost to our efforts, but would also 
help to spread the word about what we are hoping to do for children. 
Anything you can do will be immensely helpful, so please tell every-
one you know about this exciting event, and we value whatever energy, 
commitment, and support you are able to give.

The 2-day event, with a full line-up of great music, takes place at 
The Carnivore in Nairobi, on September 21 and 22, from 11 am - 7 pm.
