Innovative program series 1

INSPIRING YATRA (A journey): Young Inspirers supported by FPAI - 
SECRT, Lucknow Branch organized Inspiring Yatra 1996 (by train). 

This Yatra commenced on World Health Day (7th April, 1996) to Inspir-
ers. Day (17th April, 1996). The idea of this Yatra was conceived by 
Young Inspirer Manish Kumar. 8 Young Inspirers participated in the 
Yatra. They were guided by the Counselor, FPAI- SECRT, Lucknow. Route 
undertaken was:- Lucknow - Gorakhpur - Varanasi - Pratapgarh - 
Lucknow. 

Before the commencement of Yatra we took the permission from Railway 
Board, New Delhi. Educational material was distributed in the running 
trains as well as in the trains at the platforms. Young Inspirers 
held discussions with the passengers and performed various IEC ac-
tivities. Those who were interested in having more information about 
a particular health problem or HIV/AIDS were requested to visit the 
mobile library set up in one of the compartments of the trains. Many 
people made use of this library. A kit of educational material was 
given to the Station Masters en route.
