Re: Supercourse Newsletter - Free Statistical Software

Concerning free statistical software:

"R" is a great product but has a very steep learning curve for many
people. Once you know it, it makes sense why it is designed the way it
is, but for people new to statistics much less computing at the level
needed to carry out analysis of data, it is hard to learn. A good tuto-
rial as proposed would be very helpful.

Here are some other links including the "R" project. Sorry I do not
have time to annotate them all for you. There maybe some repeated en-
tries.

get a free account and check the freeware, shareware downloads. After
installing all kinds of statistics programs you might need "UNCLEAN" a
uninstall program which works very well and is free and better than the
commercial programs.
