AIDS - A framework for Continuum of Care

Dear colleagues,
The fight against HIV/AIDS is one that has to be fought on many
fronts simultaneously. Because the AIDS epidemic affects such a wide
spectrum of people, from the HIV infected individual, to the family
members and children, to the community, no one single intervention
method should take precedence over another. All must be promoted vig-
orously in order to save as many lives as possible.
The continuum is presented below as a list. A wonderful chart that
graphically illustrates how this continuum affects an increasing num-
ber of people as the years pass by, and how interventions will even-
tually impact future generations has been prepared by Peel & Mavi-
yane. This chart can be viewed at:
