Eye Care Database in Africa

Dear all,

In understanding the importance of reliable information in implement-
ing, running and expanding eye care services I am currently preparing 
a project for a database of eye care in Africa (EyeSearch). This pro-
ject is a result of long standing discussion and cooperation between 
OptoNews Africa Network Inc., the World Council of Optometry, African 
Council of Optometry, International Centre for Eyecare Education and 
Low Cost Eyeglasses Inc.

I am about to make a conclusion that *NO* similar database currently 
exists in Africa , however, if anyone is aware of any organisations 
(in Africa or elsewhere) that provide eye health information, with a 
special interest in Optometry, specifically for Africa could you 
please let me know.
