Unsafe sex is the second-largest health risk (2)
------------------------------------------------

Dear AFRO-NETS colleagues,

I always thought that medical research was very systematic.... and
drew conclusions based on a thorough understanding of ALL the circum-
stances. I am therefore surprised at the WHO report ranking "Unsafe
sex is the second-largest health risk".

I would have expected the study to have talked more about the inabil-
ity to afford safe sex as being the underlying health problem, not
the practice of safe sex.

I would have expected the study to talk more about the inability to
treat sexually transmitted diseases with simple antibiotics to be a
top health hazard.

I would have expected the study to recognise that ignorance is a po-
tent cause of health hazard.... especially among young people in the
NORTH who are probably just as "badly" behaved as people in develop-
ing countries..... but get away with it because of easy and afford-
able access to all the curative medications that science devise and
money can buy.

If developing countries spent as much per capita on health as the de-
veloped countries in the NORTH.... the present global health crisis
would not exist. FACT.

When... Oh when..... are we going to get to this ROOT CAUSE

Sincerely,

T. Peter Burgess
