region with a GDP per capita of approx. US$ 1,980 (ref: CIA Fact 
Sheet 2001 est.), it costs the government over ¢5 million per annum 
(approx. US$ 600) to maintain each patient admitted into a mental 
hospital? - an indication that it may be the most expensive health-
care.
