I think this is a different topic altogether. My thesis was that
since evidence from empirical studies (I cited some references) shows
that those who practice FGM do so mostly to adhere to tradition, we
should focus our efforts on interventions to promote behavior change.
We know enough about its health and social consequences and I think
the next necessary step is prevention!! I wondered how results of the
sexual sensation study could contribute to this process.
