Dear Friends,

I have just received a note from Alexander Adelsberger of ArcheDream
about the work of ActALIVE, and will be writing to him today, but am
posting this now to a few listservs and members of the coalition and
the Art4Development forum, and will be happy to post more widely as
well.

With many thanks for this exciting information and all best wishes,

ArcheDream for HUMANKIND

is an emerging non-profit organization dedicated to the ideal of art
in the service of humankind.

ArcheDream for Humankind is looking for support for our Project South
Africa, which is slated to launch in September 2003.

We are looking for support and like minded artists interested in be-
ing part of a cross-culture travelling 6-month show through South Af-
rica, which has the highest incidence of HIV/AIDS contraction in all
of Africa.

ArcheDream?s goal: To promote AIDS education in the heartland of the
epidemic.
We purport education, conflict resolution and healing through ART.
Our Big Tent will visit numerous townships of the densely populated
Gauteng area (Johannesburg), serving as a cultural and educational
platform for South African community-based organizations and artists
alike.

The HIV/AIDS Awareness/Prevention initiative will use ?Edutainment? -
- Education through Entertainment, in collaboration with local South
African non-profit and arts sector.

Performance artists will present the theme of prevention and dis-
crimination through sketches, music, comedy, and sing-along.

Community education will also include distribution of informative
literature and visual/illustrated HIV/AIDS material, condoms, and
other relevant information, as well as testimonials from the coura-
geous living with HIV/AIDS.

OUR MAIN EVENT:

A black light spectacle depicting the struggle of humanity divided
into HIV positive and negative.

In an expressionist style, it is a reflection of actual social reali-
ties with resolution through prevention and co-existence.
