Report Results: Rwandan Malaria and Mosquito Net Survey

Population Services International has released the first research pa-
per for the Rwanda Malaria Prevention and Impregnated Mosquito Net 
Survey. The survey was conducted among a random sample of 1,200 
adults in Butara, Kigali-Ville, and Kigali-Rurale, Rwanda. The report 
describes levels of knowledge of malaria (including symptoms, mode of 
transmission, ways to avoid malaria and ways to treat malaria), expo-
sure to information about malaria prevention and preventive behavior. 
 
A separate module of the questionnaire provides detailed information 
about mosquito nets, including: knowledge of mosquito nets, ownership 
of mosquito nets, reasons for not using mosquito nets, ability to pay 
for mosquito nets, knowledge of impregnated nets and the need for re-
treatment and knowledge of PSI brand Ingabo nets.
