Muslim Religious Leaders in Mali Join the Fight against HIV/AIDS
----------------------------------------------------------------
Population Services International (PSI) and the Malian League of
Imams and Scholars for Islamic Solidarity have teamed up to
spread messages of abstinence and fidelity in the fight against
HIV/AIDS. After attending an HIV/AIDS workshop held by PSI/Mali,
local Muslim leaders have created standard sermons around four
HIV/AIDS themes. The inaugural sermon was given by the Hadj Mo-
hamed Fodé Cissé, dean and first vice president of LIMAMA, in the
presence of hundreds of Muslims who came for Friday prayers.
