New publications from YouthNet
------------------------------

The YouthNet Program, coordinated by Family Health International,
announces the publication of two new YouthLens research briefs
and a programmatic tool for working with the private sector.

1. YouthLens No. 8 - Abstinence and Delayed Sexual Initiation -
is now available.

Promoting abstinence is an important strategy that can help delay
sexual activity, but complementary messages are needed for those
who are sexually active. This research brief is available as
Adobe PDF file (4 pp. 154 kB) at:
http://www.fhi.org/en/Youth/YouthNet/Publications/YouthLens+English.htm

2. YouthLens No. 9 - Information and Communications Technology -
has been published.

Technology resources increasingly link professionals working with
reproductive health and HIV prevention programs in developing
countries. These same resources - e-mail, CD-ROMs, listservs, the
Internet, radio, and television - hold great promise for reaching
youth as well. Read about these resources and how they can be ap-
plied to youth health issues (Adobe PDF file 4 pp.- 146 kB) at:
http://www.fhi.org/en/Youth/YouthNet/Publications/YouthLens+English.htm

3. Private-Sector Assessment Tool.

This handbook serves as a guide for conducting a technical as-
sessment of the potential for private-sector youth reproductive
health interventions. You can access this handbook online as
Adobe PDF file (44 pp. 528 kB) at:
http://www.fhi.org/en/Youth/YouthNet/ProgramsAreas/PrivateSector.htm
