Hepatitis B Lesson
The number of new hepatitis B infections in the U.S. has de-
clined from about 260,000 a year in the 1980s to about 78,000 in
2001, but it still poses a serious risk to people living with
HIV.
Did you know there's a vaccine you can take to prevent this in-
fection? It's recommended that people living with HIV get vacci-
nated, so read about it first here.
AIDSmeds.com has one of the best Web-based overviews of hepati-
tis B as it relates to people living with HIV. As with all of
our lessons, it's a comprehensive overview, but easy to read.
