Leadership Training in Sustainable Development

September 2004

Mid-career professionals are hereby invited to apply to partici-
pate in the Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD)
programme. The programme includes six weeks of international
training, spread over 18 months. It is facilitated by the De-
partment of Social Development and LEAD Southern Africa. The
curriculum covers the following population, environment and de-
velopment themes:
? Environmental issues and natural resource management;
? Global and regional development challenges;
? Population trends and challenges;
? Social and economic development;
? Leadership skills.

The training programme will commence in September 2004. It in-
cludes three training sessions in Southern African countries.

Prospective applicants should hold at least a 3-year degree or
equivalent qualification, and should work in the fields of popu-
lation, development and/or environment.
