Ethical Issue as Drugs Are Tested Overseas (2)

There are four main issues as far as ethics is concerned:
* Respect for autonomy
* Non-maleficiency
* Beneficiency (Primum Nocere)
* and Justice
The latter factor deals with not only how the population from
which subjects were sampled benefits from the study but also
whether the drug will be available to the population if found to
be effective. Otherwise the poorer nations become an experimen-
tal field for the developed countries with little or no benefit
from the results of the study.
PS I could not read the article as it has a subscription re-
striction. I wonder whether the latter factor was addressed?
