Health, social and educational needs of students in Nairobi, Kenya
------------------------------------------------------------------

A web-based project to survey and educate students about sexual-
ity and reproductive health issues in Nairobi, Kenya, has just
been published. The study has some enlightening information for
stakeholders with interest in delivering reproductive health in-
formation and services to young people in Africa and other de-
veloping country settings.

The study, titled "TeenWeb Nairobi: Results of a web-based pro-
ject to survey and educate students about health" had the fol-
lowing four main objectives:

1. To better understand the social, educational and sexual-
health needs of urban secondary school students aged 12-21
years.

2. To share this knowledge to improve policy and services for
adolescents.

3. To test a new research modality (the Internet) for collecting
data over time.

4. To test a new teaching modality (the Internet) for health
education.
