One World Beat 2004 / Keep A Child Alive
----------------------------------------
19-21 March, 2004
Dear Friends,
Hello, and hope you will join us for One World Beat 2004, taking
place March 19-20-21 in 45 countries worldwide, with 160 sched-
uled events and thousands of performers, supporters, and par-
ticipants. The mission and purpose of this amazing event is to
raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and funds for "Keep A Child
Alive", a pioneering ARV program for children and families af-
fected by HIV/AIDS founded by Leigh Blake of Artists Against
AIDS Worldwide (AAAW) and Red-Hot.
Musicians across the globe -- in India, Japan, the Philippines,
the Bahamas, Spain, England, Scotland, Wales, the USA, Brazil,
Canada, Australia, Burkina Faso, Uganda, Kenya, Tunisia, Trini-
dad and Tobago, Thailand, Nigeria, United Arab Emirates, South
Korea, the Maldives, Lithuania, Gibraltar, Poland, France, Swit-
zerland, Cyprus, Burundi, South Africa, the Democratic Republic
of the Congo, Tanzania, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Croatia, Singapore,
New Zealand, Belgium, Germany, Ghana, the Netherlands, Greece,
Malta, Pakistan, Slovak Republic -- are uniting to show that mu-
sic can make a difference.
The events of the weekend will also be broadcast over the Inter-
net and radio, both locally (see our website for details) and
globally. Starting at 6pm EST on Friday March 19th and extending
through 9pm EST on Sunday March 21st, anyone with an Internet
connection can listen in and join the fun, at:
http://www.radiodevil.com/owb
There will be a live-chat function, courtesy of Paltalk, allow-
ing people to participate from anywhere in the world. Radio-
Devil.com, an Asheville, NC/USA organization, and Larry Edoff, a
New York-based singer/songwriter/composer/pianist who has played
with such greats as Tony Bennett and the Count Basie Orchestra,
and his management team are co-producing this amazing event,
which will feature the music of 80 artists participating in One
World Beat, merchandise for sale, downloads (this feature will
pertain for all of 2004, with profits from sales of music going
to Keep A Child Alive), an auction, and pictures, URLs, contact
and event information for One World Beat artists.
We hope that you will join us at http://www.oneworldbeat.org
(where it is possible to donate to Keep A Child Alive through
the secure-pay system) and http://www.radiodevil.com/owb this
weekend, and greatest thanks for helping us to beat HIV/AIDS as
one!
